Weller Brothers provides the highest quality landscape design and lawn maintenance services to customers in the Midwest. We are looking for a motivated and passionate Assistant Landscape Designer to become a part of our team. 

The primary responsibility of the Assistant Landscape Designer (ALD) is to assist the Landscape Design Team (LDT) with various duties. 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and competency satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position.  Specific schedules will be determined based on weather and the general needs of the business.

 

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Design Responsibilities

  • Produce base maps, designs, materials takeoffs, and proposals.
  • Provide materials take-offs for designs produced, as requested by LDT.
  • Take measurements site elevations when needed.
  • Communicate and take direction from LDT on daily task prioritization
  • When requested by LDT, attend meetings.  Meetings may include initial consultations, presentations, construction progress meetings, and final completion meetings.
  • Follow up with LDT often to ensure workload is being managed.
  • Comply with all Core Processes including Lead to Construction and Construction to Final Invoice
  • Assist LDT with other duties as they arise

Project Responsibilities

  • Assist LDT with materials pricing and logistics when needed for projects.  Ensure timely material deliveries in accordance with jobsite workflow and to eliminate inefficiencies related to production staff not having materials in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the scheduling of subcontractors for projects, ensuring all subcontracted work is completed in sequence with Weller Brothers work to eliminate inefficiencies.

General Responsibilities

  • Submit all receipts for expenses to accounting weekly.
  • Submit LMN time log daily.
  • Put in the hours necessary to make sure the job is getting done on time including weekend and holidays if necessary.
  • Make decisions that are in the best interest of the company
  • Perform other duties relating to this position as they arise.
  • Other duties needed to help drive and fulfill the Weller Brothers Mission.

Job Requirements

  • Work and communicate professionally with customers and team members.
  • Proficient with Dynascape, CAD or similar design software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong ability to work independently with little direction
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Collaborative, positive attitude with eagerness to learn and assist where needed
