Like many homeowners, this family looked into their backyard and saw endless opportunities for transformation. Their goal was to create a space that reflected their lifestyle — fun, relaxing, and inviting. Within this space, it needed to accommodate energetic kids, adults who enjoy lounging, and, of course, their four-legged friends running freely.
When clients come to Weller Brothers Landscaping to create their dream outdoor oasis, it’s often a vision that’s difficult to put into words. That’s where our seasoned Landscape Designers come in. Chad Kasten, the lead designer on this project, has a keen eye for sleek design and functional flow, and it showed through in each detail of this project.
A Vision for Family Connection
From the very beginning, the goal was to design an outdoor space that felt like a seamless extension of our clients home. The homeowners imagined golden summer mornings spent relaxing on the deck, laughter filling the air as the day moved effortlessly into dips in a cool, refreshing pool. The vision did not stop with a pool; they also wanted a comfortable space for lounging, gathering, and making memories.
From consultation to final walkthrough, our team worked effortlessly to ensure every detail supported that vision: a space that invites connection, relaxation, and everyday enjoyment.
Designing with Purpose
Every great design comes with its own set of challenges, and this project was no exception. The existing slopes and layout required thoughtful planning to create a smooth, natural flow between the deck, pool, and surrounding landscape. Our team also needed to select materials that were not only beautiful, but also durable and easy to maintain.
By balancing functionality and design, Chad created a cohesive outdoor space that fulfills the clients initial vision and checks all of their boxes of entertainment and enjoyment.
A Beautiful Extension
The home’s existing deck quickly became the foundation for this design. By thoughtfully placing the pool nearby, we achieved a seamless connection that makes it easy to move between indoor and outdoor living spaces. The remainder of the yard layout helped guide the placement of the remaining plantings, and entertainment areas.
A Favorite Feature
For our team, the paver pool deck steals the show. It is stylish, comfortable, and perfectly positioned for lounging and entertaining. The modern layout and warm materials tie all elements together, creating a welcoming environment that makes you want to kick back and stay awhile.
Planting to Complete the Space
To soften the hard scape and enhance privacy, we selected a mix of evergreens, sumacs, and flowering shrubs that bring color, movement, and texture throughout the seasons. The plant palette complements the space beautifully, yet is low-maintenance enough for a busy family.
What was once a plain concrete court is now a custom-designed backyard oasis, a space for this family to relax, entertain, and create lasting memories for years to come.
