Job Summary and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Assist with construction/installation of landscape
  • Take direction from jobsite foreman
  • Communicate with jobsite foreman and landscape designer to make sure the job is getting done to Weller Brothers quality standards and on time
  • Ability to adapt and preform other landscape crewman duties as neede

Lawn Maintenance Technician

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day tasks of lawn and landscape maintenance crew including mowing and string trimming, power raking, spring and fall cleanups, aerating, etc.
  • Maintain a positive and professional appearance and attitude.
  • Ability to adapt and perform other lawn care technician duties as needed
  • Take direction from the crew foreman and perform assigned tasks.

Landscape Enhancement Foreman

Details about this Career

The primary responsibility of the Enhancement Foreman is to lead and perform a variety of duties to grow, maintain, and care for all types of plants and landscapes in a variety of settings. 

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day crew tasks including but not limited to fertilizer and chemical applications, lawn mowing, power raking, irrigation installation and repair, landscape bed maintenance, perimeter pest control applications, spring and fall cleanups, and other lawn and landscape maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate with customers in a professional manner.  Use knowledge of turf grass and landscape industry to inform and educate customers.
  • Must be legally licensed with a state-specific applicator’s license.
  • Acquires and stores pesticide and herbicide solutions; mixes or dilutes specified chemicals or materials according to directions and applies them at the recommended rate.
  • Able to use outdoor maintenance and power equipment, a variety of hand tools, and legally operate a motor vehicle.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team or alone, in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor on a daily basis.
  • Installs, adjusts, and performs minor repairs on application equipment.
  • Instruct team members, as required, in applying sprays, dust, and other materials.
  • Follow all policies as specified in the Employee Handbook
  • Retain, label, and submit all receipts timely and accurately.
  • Commit the hours necessary to make sure the job is done to satisfaction.
  • Make decisions that are in the best interest of the company.

Job Requirements

  • Prepare architectural plans, designs, estimates, and planting schemes, then present them to client(s) in a timely and effective manner
  • Manage the production of their installation crew, including understanding landscape construction techniques and communicating with customers
  • Understand and implement ways to propose and sell high-quality designs to clients
  • Build solid business relationships with clients
  • Assist with change order estimates and revisions as requested
  • Assist with other special projects as they arise

Candidate Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Design, or equivalent experience
  • Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Significant local horticulture knowledge
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

Tree Care Specialist

Details about this Career

This is an entry-level arborist position that requires some tree identification knowledge. If you are hard-working, reliable, and willing to learn, this could be your way into a fast-growing career. You must be able to lift 50lbs and work outdoors for 8-10 hours each day. Your on-site trainer will help you obtain the knowledge to professionally care for trees. Along with this, you will learn the correct protocol to spray, inject and soil drench products related to plant health care. We will help you study to obtain a chemical applicators license and then provide study material to become an ISA certified arborist. As you can see, we’re ready to help the right person succeed.
