The vision → the result!

Our work on this newly constructed Sioux Falls home began when the homeowner reached out to our team, wanting to create a nice hang-out space in the backyard.

In order for the patio level to match an existing covered patio, we added a boulder retaining wall around the perimeter. We then added patio space off the covered patio space to enjoy a fire pit or soak up the sun. On the side of the covered patio, a cedar privacy screen surrounds the hot tub area.

Finally, we planted tall ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs for year-round interest.

Beautiful and functional!

This multi-level outdoor living space started as a mostly unusable, sloped backyard. Today, it’s a magical gathering area where meaningful relationships have blossomed.
Phase one of this project started with an outlook grilling and serving structure, a pergola with seating below, and a lower firepit space. The area was designed to eventually accommodate a swimming pool. After a couple of years, the customer decided to take the “plunge” and phase two began. With the slope of the yard, the pool installation required some pretty extensive retaining walls that are something special to look at. Phase one of the project incorporated astroturf throughout the patio spaces, so we wanted to include that same detail throughout the pool deck. Each level of this backyard is truly amazing and this space will be enjoyed for many years to come.
This project became extra special to our team. Throughout the course of the construction, our production employees go to know the homeowners and their family. The video below tells the story of how this process created much more than a brand new backyard.

Elegance, beauty, and FUN sum up this backyard.

Before the renovation of this landscape began, there was an existing swimming pool and a fairly extensive landscape. The hope was to update the existing pool and redo the surrounding landscape in this Sioux Falls backyard.

To create a classy look to the patio, we used large slap pavers. Stone veneer steps were installed off the back of the house to match the look of the outdoor kitchen structures as well as the gas fire pit.

We then built an overhead structure with a TV to enjoy sporting events throughout the summer months. Whether you’re enjoying a cold beverage or cannonballing into the pool, this backyard will not disappoint. Cheers!

A design that perfectly blends the new look with the old charm of the house and neighborhood.

The client has a busy, growing family and it was time to update the backyard space and make it more usable. They wanted a bigger patio and their kids outgrew the play set. We rebuilt the back steps with caps and block to match the house and lighted them for elegance and safety. The rich, red blend of pavers complemented the brick on the front of this Sioux Falls home and made it feel like it’s been there from the beginning. And lastly, the landscape beds were tidied up and new sod was installed to finish it off so it’s ready to enjoy!

Wine, Dine, and Relax

Welcome to this transformed backyard in Rochester, Minnesota.

Sit back in a lounger and enjoy perfectly crisp lines, a soft ambiance provided by landscape lighting, and a fresh taco from the Evo flat-top stove.

For many years, this expansive Rochester, Minnesota backyard sported a large, outdated deck and unimpressive landscaping. The homeowners were ready for change, which included a pool, installed by Thatcher Pools, and much more.

Given the slope of the yard and the area dedicated to the pool, we had a relatively small area to work within. Yet, our team cleverly fit all of the elements into this project that the homeowners were hoping for — a sunken hot tub, outdoor kitchen and pergola, fire pit, and lounging areas. The artificial turf adds a unique element to the poolside, surrounded by Techo Bloc pavers.

The entire pool area is held up by a Kansas limestone retaining wall, with a Belgard wall separating the lower level from the top tier.

The kitchen elements were a priority to the homeowners, who knew exactly what they wanted. Our task was to create a kitchen design that checked off all their boxes, including a fully functional sink, grill, and Evo flat-top stove. The granite countertops with drop apron edges add a clean and neat look to the kitchen.

Enjoy!

This spectacular backyard hideaway is nestled on the south side of Sioux Falls and is truly a beautiful hidden gem.

This project started as a house renovation that led to installing an in-ground swimming pool and revamping the backyard landscape.

The focus of this project was to maintain as much of the existing vegetation as possible, preserving the sense of intimacy and privacy that the established vegetation provided. The paver patios and fire pit offer spaces to lay out and soak up the sun or warm up on a cool summer night. Reworking the existing retaining walls and landscape plantings helped to create the perfect spot to spend time with friends and family.

This backyard was the definition of a blank slate. The clients wanted to create a unique space that could be enjoyed by kids, adults, and of course our 4-legged friends.

Whether you’re into doing cannonballs into the pool, practicing your short game on the putting green, playing a little one-on-one basketball, or playing fetch, this backyard has it all! The existing backyard was a flat grass yard with no areas to hang out. The design of the project revolved around a swimming pool to create the focal point of the backyard. A patio space with a gas fire pit was installed to create a space to soak in the sun during the day and cozy up in the evenings. The sport court and putting green turned this backyard into the ultimate hangout spot for all ages, and the artificial turf lawn area is the perfect spot for the pups to play.

This project was completed in our Sioux Falls location. We also have teams in Rochester, MN and Des Moines, IA

This backyard landscape needed some serious updating and Weller Brothers was ready to dive right in!

Prior to this backyard renovation, there were a few existing features that these Sioux Falls clients wanted to save, including the boulder walls, existing trees, and fireplace.

Incorporating an inground swimming pool was the focal point of the design. New paver patios were installed around the swimming pool to provide plenty of seating areas. The existing fireplace was moved to a new location to create a better flow to the patio space. All new plant material and landscape lighting was installed to soften the hardscaping and bring a glow to this project at night.

This landscape renovation will provide our clients with a wonderful space for the whole family to enjoy for years to come.

Out with the old; in with the new!

This beautiful space was once an outdated backyard in need of a major overhaul. The entire swimming pool was renovated to give this space the focal point it deserves. With an all-new paver pool deck, there are plenty of areas to lounge and hang out around the pool. The new grilling and cooking structure is a perfect spot to gather around and fuel up after a day in the pool. Constructed by our excellent landscaping team in Sioux Falls, this backyard remodel will be an outstanding space to make memories for years to come.

A Space For the Whole Family

A Space For the Whole Family

This outdoor space really has something for everyone.

These Rochester, MN homeowners turned to our team for vision. The challenge? Turn a huge yard – covered in grass and a few outdated paver areas – into a space for entertaining and a fun area for their kids to hang out.

We created several different spaces to accomplish the goals. A fire pit area provides warmth on chilly Minnesota evenings, the lounge area is the perfect place to relax, the kitchen has everything a grill-master could ask for, and, of course, the enormous pool is large enough to swim laps or just splash around.

In order to achieve a contemporary/classic look to match the existing home, we used the same brick from the front of the home to create the new outdoor kitchen. This space is complete with a grill, storage, a side burner, and an outdoor refrigerator.

Techo-Bloc materials create a seat wall around the fire pit area and a raised planter on the end of the pool to give some height and dimension to the backyard.

When creating the planting plan, it was important to use low-maintenance and deer-resistant plants. We achieved this while adding bright bursts of color throughout the large yard.

After a fun-filled day, the homeowners and their guests relax and enjoy a lively low-voltage lighting system and color-changing lights within the pool.
